For splitting lumber rounds into firewood, you can't beat our Splitting Maul and Pickaroon. The Maul has an extra thick neck and red steel safety collar to resist damage from overstrikes. The forged steel head weighs about 4 lbs and has a pair of raised cheeks that function like small wedges. The Pickaroon has a curved-beak forged-steel head that you drive into a log in order to pull, fling, roll and pitch them where needed. Both tools feature 31''-long American hickory. Commissioned at a third-generation German foundry, these two exceptional tools will make your firewood tasks easier.
